We make the journey out to see the Terracotta warriors and I'm amazed by the painstaking detail that went into their construction. It's amazing what slavery and the fear of torture and death can do to motivate a person to create beautiful works of art. I'm less amazed by the cryptic descriptions provided by the audio guide we rented that requires a PhD in Linguistics to decipher.
We cap off the day by getting suckered into paying 90 yuan for what is essentially instant noodles and two cans of Coke, and getting on the slow bus back to town, which takes a five kilometre shortcut through a construction zone.
This is one day I wouldn't put in the 'win' column.
