The China Journal - Day 14

Apparently the anti-nausea medicine we took in anticipation of a bumpy ride to Leshan has more of a kick than we're used to, as we both spend the day fighting through a white fog of drowsiness. This makes the journey up, then down, then up, then down the steep, narrow steps to take in the full scope of the Grand Buddha sculpted into the cliffside an exhausting struggle.

Still, we manage to eat one of the best bowls of noodles in Sichuan at a tinyl stall down a narrow lane whose standards of hygiene are questionable to say the least, and are probably summed up best by the chunks of raw meat in a plastic bag dumped on the floor amidst the dirty pots and pans (look closely at the picture and you can see for yourself!). This is what keeps dining in China a continuous and never-ending adventure!
