Through a tragic twist of fate, and an example of Nature's masochistic sense of humour, the two manage to get stuck together and were unable to break free.
The blank expressions on their faces, however, did not betray any feelings of discomfort and pain they must have been experiencing. In fact, with their dopey grins and tongues hanging out, they could have been, for all intents and purposes, relaxing under the shade of a tree on a hot afternoon in July.
