Easily becoming the breakout stars of 2008's cult classic Postcards from Vancouver (segments of which can be seen in the May 2008 archive of this blog), Cubic Monkey and Ugly Monkey immediately captured the hearts of roughly half-a-dozen people. While no one in particular demanded their return, they have nonetheless reunited to share their journeys with their ever-loving public.
In their first meeting (featured below in Saga of a Rag Doll of a Cubic Monkey), Cubic Monkey convinced Ugly Monkey to follow him in his dream to see the world.
Upon leaving Vancouver, Cubic Monkey and Ugly Monkey ventured to the far North, and established themselves in the town of Inuvik in the Northwest Territories. While there, they explored the wilds of the Arctic tundra, followed in the footsteps of the Gold Rush prospectors, and briefly assisted the Government of Canada in educating communities in the north on how to maintain a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.
Realizing that the Arctic was no place for monkeys (lack of fresh bananas a key factor), Cubic Monkey and Ugly Monkey decided to travel to the one place in the world where bananas were in abundant supply, as well as being the one place they might just have a chance of being deified.
Thus, our story begins...
